weekendjoy

well, good weekend so far. last night we had a really nice mellow non-party evening with some friends of monk's that i hadn't met yet. we drank pacifico and talked in the kitchen til it was time for us to go home to bed.
this morning we got up early and i made smoothies. then i made lunches for all the people we were hiking with (because i had a feeling most wouldn't pack lunches for themselves) and 5 of us went on a good two hour hike in the mt. tam area.. through redwoods and panoramic views of the ocean and green ferny goodness. then we met up with about 8 other people and hiked to this swiss chalet in the middle of the forest called the Tourist Club, which is a private club in the woods that is open for a few hours every sat and sun (except the second sunday of the month) and they serve german beer. so we sat on a deck overlooking the tall trees and hills and drank hoegarden and were supremely sunny and happy and talky and laughy and it was just lovely. i want to go back again and again.
i wanted to grill some chicken but now we're lazy and at home and we'll probably make easy food and save the grill for tomorrow.
