summer days

i'm sun soaked and sleepy. we had a mildly ineffectual weekend until today. friday night we tried to got to a movie, but by the time we were done eating we either were going to get bad seats (or it was sold out) or we had to wait 2.5 hours til the next screening. so we went home, but dinner was yummy at least
then yesterday we tried to go to the city to buy bikes.. but our friends weren't in the store, and we left confused about what we wanted. so no bikes. but the mexican food was yummy. that evening, out to orinda for a family event. which was quite pleasant and made up for ineffectual bike trips.
today we went to berkeley to a thai temple for their cheap thai sunday brunch. you exchange money for these 'coins' which you then exchange for food. there are tons of tables outside and the place is PACKED.. it's a pretty popular destination as the food is pretty cheap (5 coins ..approx 5 dollars, gets you a pretty nice meal) and really really good.
then we came home and lounged on a blanket in our back yard in the sun. zilla pouncing on grass and bugs and flowers, while we soaked up the sun and felt lazy. heat on our faces and shoulders.
and now i'm marinating baby artichokes and tilapia and brocolli.. so we'll have fish and artichokes and assorted veggies off the grill later ,and sit at our new patio furniture in the sun while we eat. yum.
but right now? i feel so heat soaked, i think it's nap time. i cleaned the bedroom and the living room and straightened the kitchen, so i deserve it.
we were supposed to go to the city again today, but that just ain't happenin.
this week i'm buying fun cotton print pajamas for summery weather, and a new bathing suit.
and wednesday i have a day off, so we're going to go hiking (we wanted to go bike riding but oh well) and then have lunch at google with a friend who works there, and then more hiking ...i love summer.
