costa rica so far

ok, so ...like. the internet in san jose is free but in quepos it costs me collones.

so i will summarize. because i wrote an entry in san jose but the internet went kaput and i lost it:

so, the quick sum up of my week in costa rica is!

rain, museums, caballeros roping foals, gallo pinto, bus ride through mountains, breakfast on a hillside, white water rafting into the jungle, beautiful thatched rooves no electricity candle light, delicious dinners, no hot water, jungle sounds , cicadas, toucans, long hikes up steep terrain in the mud , 2 hours straight up, indigenous people villages, mud so much mud , mud to my knees, slipping and sliding and so hot and so hard but oh so beautiful, jungle everywhere, sliding and slipping down again, napping in hammocks, bonding over sore muscles, 4 hours of white water rafting out of the jungle, jungle rising on either side , swollen air and clouds, releasing rain, amy falling out of the boat, so scary, swimming through canyon walls with the boat and our guide esdras sitting on the front of the boat behind us..his feet trailing in the water, back in the boat, class 4 rapids, sad to leave, back to san jose, arguments about where to go next, driving to the west coast through mountains and small villages the air getting hotter and more humid, sun powerful, til quepos, on the coast...manuel antonio, jungle and ocean beaches together. monkeys and iguanas! monkeys and iguanas and bugs oh my! swimming and hiking and getting dirty and tired and still sore from rafting and eating ceviche and drinking cerveza and sleeping in narrow beds and eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on the side of the road and watching my shoulders get brown.

this is costa rica so far. summed up all quick like.

i have a week left

there's a little part of me still in the states, but the part of me that is here is having a wonderful warm and sweaty time. and god damn it i saw monkeys.
