birthdays and stuff

yesterday i turned 35. when my mom was that age, i was 15. i find this odd and unsettling. for a few minutes at least
last night, i ate totally delectable and delicious food and then took a bath. and then had 'quality time' with monk..
(this is all after we had some dumb fight on our way home from BART about, um.. i don't remmber. something dumb! we often fight about dumb thinsg on our way home from BART. once it was about the layout of the parking structure and which of us knew it better. these kinds of fights usually end with us suddenly stopping. and laughing. because..what were we fighting about again? damn we can both be stubborn)

tonight, a large group of my friends and i will sing karaoke and eat sushi and carouse til the wee hours . it's funny. i'm totally looking forward to it, but dreading the aftermath tomorrow in a way that i never used to dread aftermath.
i didn't used to worry about how tired or hungover i might be on a 'day after'.. but now, it's one of the first things i think about. 35. yep. i'm 35.

our house is 3/4 of the way put together.. and next weekend is a free weekend. no plans! just finishing the house, hurrah.

our guest room has monk's sisters stuff in it and it's WAYYY more grown up than our room.
