yay for good weekends

this is my favorite new read. she's adorable.

so, i'm a meat eater. ok? i love meat. but i was more than pleasantly surprised upon the discovery of boca burgers on dense quality bread, with melted cheese, lettuce and mayo. and i think i'm addicted.

in other news.

hurrah for balance. i have to force myself to do the mundane things. which seem so tedious. so boring. but once i've done themi feel this sparkle of productivity and satisfaction. and i can go do other things without feeling stretched thin. because..well..things are taken care of!

so i mopped and scrubbed and wiped. and i went on an extra long walk with both the monsters. i slept in.

i took the train to the east bay with ari&ntonia. we walked through the scariest part of town to find a party . a party in a warehouse/loft.

the party was one of the best i've ever been to. when we left at 3:30, i was thinking i could have stayed another 3 hours. we danced in a circle in the middle while people rollerskated/bladed around the outside. we dodged the derbyists to run to get snacks or drinks. the dj's played the best music. the roller derby boy i'd seen at rollerskating way back in june was there, and i hadn't seen him since. i'd had this huge crush on him andthere he was, dorky-beautiful. hamming it up on his skates. we talked. i danced with him and everyone. i nursed two drinks all night and never got drunk. (very good). i fended off a man who seemed to want to dance-hump my butt. i learned that whole 'small world' lesson again, between rollerboy and like 4 people from my own high school showing up, well...damn. (randomly! we dont' know the same people necessarily). i danced and danced and danced some more. for about 5 hours. getting more frenzied and silly as the hours went on.

at about 1:30 the dancing stopped for 1/2 hour and there were firespinners and belly dancers. to industrial heavy metal. in frilly pantaloon undies. then the dancing started back up.

it was awesome.

when we first got there, the people who had invited us weren't there and we didn't know anybody but the crowd was so amazing it was the kind of party it didn't matter if you knew anyone. friendly geeky hipster nerdy chic. the girls finally showed up and rounded out a perfect night.

i am sore and achey today.

tonight, i think i'm going to experience my first bikram yoga experience.

next time i get crazy, somebody tell me to go mop my kitchen or clean the bathroom, ok?

xo
