my mom said she wrote this about being pregnant with me. i can't wait to have swallows.

Swallows.
That's what you felt like...
soft swallow wings
fluttering gently,
dipping and swooning--
your flight toward life--
feather soft
but as surprising as a scarf of swallows
against the cobalt sky
