happy weekend

i slept til 12:45 today
i don't do that anymore. ever! it felt pretty freaking good, to tell you the truth. and i kind of wanted to keep sleeping, but i actually jumped out of bed in a mild panic when i saw the time. not because i had anything to do , but because...i just.don't.do.that. anymore.
i used to sleep way too much.. pretty much for all of my life til i hit ..30, i'd say
i still am not a morning person but i *try* to be up by 10:30 at the very latest. more likely 9:30.

this week i bought a lot of clothes. i'd been wearing monk's tshirts and flannels and jeans for months... and the frump factor was seriously beginning to get to me
but i also realized i really wanted to feel comfy. most of my cute clothes that i alreayd had just didn't inspire comfort feelings. so in a quest to find cute but comfy ..i went a little clothes crazy. lots of blazers are included in comfort cute. velvet blazers in a multitude of lovely colors.
this was my xmas present. monk gets clothes too.
one secret present for each of us and we're done.

i can't decide whether i'm making presents or buying presents this year...
i should probably get to work on collages.

today we're going for a hike... because it's already mid way through november and it's like 75 degrees outside.

last night i went to a girls night and put on nail polish and played a game called Marry Date or Dump, while drinking red wine or champagne. girls really are wonderful critters.

i love my engagement ring and i have to admit that i stare at it way too often. on the train, in stores, walking down the street. i angle my hand so light hits it and admire. i'm sure people see it happening.
sometimes i angle my hand so that i can see it in reflection in a window and stare at it that way.
dorky. yes.

two 30th birthdays tonight. and a few more in the next few weeks. it seems like all of our 30 year old friend swere born in november & december & january. freaky.

tomorrow night we might just have to see harry potter.
