oh beautiful day

oh feeling so happy
monk and i just sat in the back yard filling out our respective calendars with stuff we are doing for the next month. sharing a dark chimay. in the sun, warm and toasty. and toasty in the 'wow. chimay is strong' sense too.
then we discussed the wedding and save-the-dates and music selections.
what a gloriously gorgeous weekend. yesterday was perfectly hot and sunny for craft day. there were people on teh floor cutting fabric, sewing on multiple sewing machines, discussing knitting, talking about life and boys and crafting.
and today, we woke up at 9:30 and lounged around the house. i started a new collage... then we went on a walk for over an hour up into the hills around our house. looking at other people's houses (we stopped in an open house for an almost-700k house which was a little bigger than ours and had a hottub and sauna/steam room but still wasn't as pretty. and smelled like cat pee upstairs). all the way to wildcat canyon. hot and sweaty from the sun but i felt like we'd entered another world the farther up we got. the houses seemed more san diegan, and less 'bay area'. .. full of sun and large windows but low to the ground and not built upwards.
i cut a bunch of flowers from the garden yesterday , to put on the table.. reds and pinks and yellows are the prominent colors.
i like that monk has no doubts about how feasible and realistic we are as a couple. i think because after C, i expect him to.
and i like that yesterday in the back yard, with lots of girls standing around. he absent-mindedly had his hand under my shirt and was just rubbing my belly. or as amy said "loving on the belly".

i need to go buy some cheap used records, so i can make record bowls. talk about the easiest cheapest new craft!
you just take a metal bowl (not too big) and turn it upside down in an oven that is heated to 200 degrees
put a record on top of the upside down metal bowl for approximately 5 minutes. take out and mold the record over the bowl. it will have folds & creases, but you can mold those to be symmetrical
then you have a bowl that you can put candy or fruit in (nothing too small. it has a hole in it, remember)
or, it's a good planter because of that hole!

go take your unused vinyl and makeyourself one!

i have matzoh ball soup in my fridge. nyah.
