placeholder entry

i've been too impatient or tired to write. i would like the stuff in my head to just appear here so i don't have to go to the trouble of typing it out
i went away for 6 days, came back and toodled around the city with my friend who was visiting for the week, and ended with other friends at the french laundry
i have things to say about all of the above. but this is more of a 'placeholder' entry.
