goodbye and hello and home

so here i am in san francisco again. and it's cold. and it's not raining. and it's dry in the air. and it's kind of loud and crowded

and it is automatic to say hola and gracias and mucho gusto

i kind of miss costa rica already. although i have less of the "i could pick up and move there!" that the girls have

because i think my home is here and i don't mean my house.

and being home and the whole weekend was beautiful and warm and comfortable and hot and i don't mean the weather.

and the boogie and the boy on either side. and we're good together in the kitchen, fluid and relaxed, and i'm softer and smiling all the time

and i pretty much love my life right now.

and i'm home. and i'm tired. and i'm achey. and i'm deep down in the bones happy

and i waved goodbye as the airplane took off. to the rain and the warm and the green and the friendly and the beauty.

and i waved hello as the brown rolling velvety hills of california appeared.
