RENOVATIONS

today i am painting my hallway

i made a promise to a room mate "no way will i buy anything pastel. i swear. i'm going for a smokey blue"

and so, i thought i bought a smokey blue

and i'm painting

and i'm thinking "oh shit. pastel"

ah well, i'll leave thehallway this color..there's hardly any light in there anyway and i'll do the living room the darker color.

i also got a bunch of dishware and a rug and i'm on some sort of high powered crazy renovate the house kick.

also? i am losing interest in the whole "go out and whoop it up" thing.

which leaves me a little bored because i'm not sure that reading 5 books in one week and hibernating is up to waht i want either. i mean i loved the books part but i get a little stir crazy without people.

what i need is. a boyfriend? i don't know. maybe. but my whole adult life until the past 3 years, i've been settled. living with somebody, watching movies, reading books, staying in, talking, having a core group of friends, drinking less.

the past 3 years has been...more friends than i could shake a stick at, out and about and hooplah and wine and cocktails and singing and dancing.

and now, that settled me is rearing her head and saying "is it time for ME AGAIN YET?"

yea, but all that aside? specs is my new favorite bar.

because...you can't go wrong with an old man bar that has a cheese wheel.

that's right baby.

last night it was a fontina.

back to painting!
