i'm cooking up a filipino box spring hog.

i was once a country girl. now i am an urban girl.

at night. when i'm asleep. it's grass i'm standing on. not cement.

sometimes i'm afraid the circular grates in the street will open up and swallow me whole.

much like the boogie man that lived in grandma's toilet.
