baby

when ordering soul food to go in the little place near my house.

i order my food from the woman behind the counter and the dialogue goes like this, after:

"you want a drink with that , baby?"

"no thanks"

"how about corn muffins, baby?"

"yes please. one muffin"

"ok baby. i'll ring that up for you"

"that will be $5.42, baby"

"thanks"

and i walk out with a smile , thinking . even though it was fifty million times, i like being called baby.
