lion tamer

i'm looking at my notebook. at the 6 page letter that isn't done yet. that i want to transcribe. here. there. send to him. to the void. out of me.

and i just keep staring at it and then i close it.

it's like a brick wall.

and i feel the bone cracking sleep it leaks into me.

i want to share the thing i came back to. the thing i'd lost sight of. i want to let you in on the secret i'm holding under my breastplate.

but, it's bigger than me still.

i need to get out my lion tamer outfit, and dance around the cage a little longer.
